Maria Schwamberger-Riemer was born in Vienna in 1896. From 1915 to 1916 she attended the graphic arts teaching and research institute; She then moved to the University of Applied Arts. She attended, among other things, the specialist class for ornamental form theory with Franz Cizek, the painting class with Wilhelm Müller-Hofmann and Berthold Löffler and the workshop for enamel work with Adele Stark and Josef Hoffmann. Many of her enamel works can be found on public buildings such as the  “Poor Students” at the Gemeindebau, Johannesgasse 9-13, 1010 Vienna, or the “Pear-picking boy” at Lainzerbachstrasze 5, Congress Settlement in the 13th district in Vienna. In 1925 Schwamberger-Riemer exhibited works in oil at the Austrian Artists' Association in Vienna. The artist designed posters for the French cigarette factory “Abadie”, which opened a branch in Vienna in 1910.
